F3 game schedule.....
« on: August 08, 2004, 07:05:52 PM »
I was thinking maybe it would be best to have CS 5v5 at 8:30pm on the first night, followed by doom 3 then UT2k3 IRON MAN on the second day when people are awake, then UT2k3 1v1 on the second evening (around 4:30ish).
These are just thoughts of mine, and if you have any suggestions tell us.

Ahhhh

please try to schedule the CS tournament a little later that night (or possible the next day so the CS guys stay a little while longer)

but i have a football game that night!

Ya know, I totally forgot about the IRON MAN.  Looks like I need to get the prize crew working on some prizes!

Ya know, I've been told that money is a good prize, but trophies have more pride value (especially if the trophy is cool and big). If you want more investigation on how much trophies cost and everything, I'll help look.
As far as CS is scheduled, I forgot about your football game, Rico, so I will change it according to. What if we do the IRONMAN at 7:30pm, then right after that (aprox 1 hour) we can have the 1v1 tourny till late night. Then after that, we can do 2k4[onslaught] and 2k3 [2v2] or Doom 3 DM. Then we can do CS on the second day in consideration of Rico. That will also give the players of both gamestyles (DM + CS) a day dedicated for them. So in the end (as I'm seeing it) it may look like this:

6:00-7:00 = LAN BEGINS
7:00-7:30 = IRONMAN setup
7:30-8:30 = IRONMAN competition
8:30-9:00 = UT2k3 1v1 Setup
9:00-11:00 = UT2k3 1v1 tourny
11:00-11:30 = UT2k3 2v2 setup
11:30-1:30 = UT2k3 2v2 tourny
1:30-2:00 = UT2k4 onslaught setup
2:00-4:00 = UT2k4 onslaught tourny
4:00-10:30 = free time (sleep for the weak)
10:30-11:30 = lunch
11:30-1:30 = Doom 3 dm tourny
1:30-3:30 = COD tourny
3:30-4:00 = Counterstrike 5v5 setup
4:00-8:00 = Counterstrike 5v5 tourny
8:00-9:00 =Awards
10:00 = LAN ENDS

Might be a problem for the IRON MAN players since many of our peeps show up later.

The schedule will always be argued over about what time is best for them. So far, I've had people demanding that CS should be earlier in the day on saturday, later in the evening on saturday, or late night on friday. Where ever the time schedule is, people are going to be complaining and threatening that they are not going if the schedule doesnt change for them. I really dont care how the schedule is because I am not going to be competing in any of it (unless it is exabition).
I dont know why some are so demanding and yet more than likely, they are only going to play the one game they like and leave very shortly after. Being a month away, they should plan for the Lan party, and not expect the oppisite.
But whateva.
I just wanted everything to go smoothly with the LAN schedule (I really dont care about other people's schedule for their personal life) however, I will make an exception for Rico :D

Agreed Slider... I voiced my "preference" in another post about the cs tourny. I'm not a threatening type of guy anyway (unless forced to be that way). My preference in case you don't read the other thread is for the tourny to be on saturday also. I think the schedule you made out was rather... PERFECT if you ask me. I hope it fits mine as I would love to be able to compete in it since I am pure hax on lan.

I just really appreciate the fact that you guys are trying to be flexible. You probably don't hear that much from the sounds of it. Although the last ambush lan wasn't geared towards counter-strike, I really thought you guys did a great job with what you had to work with. That generally comes from being good people and caring about stuff.
I am excited to the hilt that cs is going to be more a apart of the lan this time and will spare as much time as possible to for the lan. And another thing... I like the trophy idea more than money too! BIG TROPHY! Some of us don't need the money as much as others and the trophy can't be blown on junk. hehe

I still chearish my little 2 1/2" tall trophy that SD6 won from a lan two or three years ago for 2nd place at netwar. I would have spent the money on junk, but instead... I have my wittew twophy. hehehe

Yah-know, I would love to see a golden mouse, but since I most likely not win it. it is of no real value to me. BTW is 10k or 14k:D  or polymer plated
