Hey yea!
I just got a new job installing fiber-optic, so maybe I could get some for LAN's or something. I;m going to be a technician! It's awsome!

btw, do you guys have a server up for 2k3 or 2k4?

Optics is one thing, but you gots the equiptment to convert to copper
cause i ain't buying a fiber card any time soon!:)

Way to go Alex!!  You may be a techie yet.  I had a PT job about 6 years ago laying fibre and I still have it etched into my brain.

The fiber would be great, and I do have some baluns for fiber to copper.

As far as a server, I haven't had a moment to get the server back online... yet.  but it is high on my list.

Sweet, ive been studying my eyes off the past 2 days so I can know what the different types of cables are and their application. Maybe I could pick up a few pointers from you networking GuRu's, huh? Maybe the next LAN? HUh?

man, polishing fiber is tough. I never new it took so many steps to terminate fiber. I dont know if I can get some for ya, but at least I'm getting networking experiences I never thought possible.

yepper, that is a tough job.  Most times, people just hire you guys to do it.  less work, and you don't have to buy the expensive tools.
