Spec:

P4 2.2 Ghz
512mb DDR
Nvidia GeForce 4 128
SB Audigy
need more ask.

Problem:

It all started when I was playing the demo of UT2K3 with my Bro (Snauz), and my sound card started to make a 17khz-20khz whinning sound  (Just gussing on the freq.) otherwise high pitched. why does it do this? It happens with all of my intese games like UT2K3 and Raven Shield. and how can i fix it

the other thing is, in the middle of UT2k3
my computer decided that it had enough and shut down and restarted on its own...
what the hell was that?

:cry::cry:PLEASE HELP I DON'T WANT THIS HAPPENING AND A LAN PARTY!!!!:cry::cry:
or anytime for that matter.

Restart:  Overheating?  Any messages in the Event log?

Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

If you could copy the text of the message  from the event log and post it that may help.

Issues solved
My system was overheating that caused both the whine and the shut down I treked out and got some Fans and a copper heatsink for my prosessor and it now sounds like my case could take off but I haven't had any problems  I tryed the link foe the sound card  ZW but it had an error on it.  I clicked on the downloads and got some updates but I didn't install them untill after  everything looked good. Looks like my system just wasn't keeping it cool. Oh well.:D
