Not the larger color lcd but I'm happy. Now to mount it in my system

Video of it running (apple quicktime ~10mb) Right click and download or it will play in a browser window.

I spent about $8 on ebay and the rest of the parts from my junk pile. What took time was getting the wiring correct.

This is the site that helped me. For now I'm running crystalcontrol but plan on switching to lcd smartie 5.2.

Also sorry for the video. used my digital camera and it sucks. I do have a camcorder but the only computer I have with video in is a mac and I don't know how to use it :;(: (as in finding the software to record).

I now have it in my case. now just need to find a boarder for it (mainly to hide my poor cutting work)

BTW - image is red because I had my finger over the flash. It was the only way to get a good shoot.

Also it seems bf1942 maxes at 100fps.

I started on a guide. Even unfinished its nearly 4 pages. Once I get more done I'll post a link to an alpha version of it. I'm also getting in a few other lcd's to see if they are any diferent.

I bet since this is the first real guide I have written in years. The last one was how to upgrade an 8088 to a 486(while keeping the same main board). I think I still have that somewhere :lol.

The way I performed the upgrade was a bit odd but it worked. I don't know of a 8088 to 486 upgrade but do have a 8088 to 286 upgrade as well as a 286 to 486 upgrade so I combined the two. The result was a computer that was roughly 10X faster on several programs. (although ram was still limited to 640k so windows 95 was not an option :;(: )

I may love new systems but older ones are still fun to play with. Just today I got in an AMD 5x86-133 (basically a fast 486). Installing windows 95c to test it. Perhaps that will be the system I do the lcd mod on for the guide. No need to cut up another new case :lol

You Know I remeber my 486DX2 I was so mad to find out that it was hard mounted because I wanted the DX4 100
Heck I still have some of those old boards

and speaking of old hardware I could go on about the old Motorola Chips 6800's were fun 68000 were touchy but hey that was the best part.

If I remember right, I have several 486 DX4-100s in my pile. Probably at least one P-100.
