ram question?
« on: May 10, 2004, 05:21:24 PM »
I'm getting new ram for my system and have narrowed the choice down to 2 items.

#1
Mushkin pc-3200 1gb (512X2)
cas. 2-3-2
Model# N82E16820146290
$262

#2
OCZ Enhanced latency 1gb(512x2)
cas 2-3-2-6 1T
Model# OCZ4001024ELDC-K
$253

I'm leaning toward mushkin because I have noticed most test systems for reviews have mushkin ram installed (that may or may not have any real meaning). Also I quickly dropped corsair from my list as they wanted over $300 for the same item (going by speed and cas latency).

You can't go wrong with either one.  Which one has the best warranty?  That would be my deciding factor.

First check if your M/B will support that brand The doule DDR Asus boards are very picky on ram. MSI is more forgiving.
Check for reviews on your M/B and see what they run for ram. Check your M/B website for their recommendations.

Either one is good RAM, but like Boom said check with the stats for compatibility with your board.

Vector ran into a few problems with that issue on his system.

Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.
