Ok so forget that I am posting to a really old thread.  Unix/Linux all the way.  I am just waiting for software vendors to catch up.  All the "features" in Windows are not features, they are attempts by Microsoft to control as much of your system as they can.  Just give me the OS and I will find my own utils and software to run with it.  I am finally somewhat liking XP, but it has taken Microsoft too long to catch up to what Unix has been offering for years.  I do not want to reboot every time I make simple config changes, that is just stupid.  Also don't get me started on their licensing scheme.  I should be allowed to install the OS on more than just one home maching.  Espicially considering more and more homes have more than one computer now a days.
