Hardware / !!!!!!!!! PSP !!!!!!!!!« on: April 04, 2005, 06:12:47 PM »
I got a PSP and love the thing. I bought a 512MB memory stick, Ridge Racer, and Lumines for it. I ripped my Family Guy DVD's to my PC and converted a few episodes into a .mp4 file that the PSP can read and watch the episodes while I'm in study hall at school.

Software / Half-Life 2 GONE GOLD« on: November 18, 2004, 10:20:07 PM »
Oh my god. This is the greatest game ever created. I'll go into details later, but wow.
Jolly, the games multiplayer is Counter-Strike: Source. That's it. 7
Software / Half-Life 2 GONE GOLD« on: October 19, 2004, 10:19:46 PM »
Forgot to post this, but Half-Life 2 went gold on Monday, and will be shipping worldwide NOVEMBER 16th(this includes Steam users too). I suggest buying the game off Steam, seeing as how Valve gets more money from it and its a WAY better deal (check out the Silver package), plus you get to play Counter-Strike: SOURCE right now. I must say it's a blast and the Source engine is freakin' incredible.
More importantly, Half-Life 2 is getting incredible reviews. It's easily one of the highest rated games, ever. Those of you who thought Doom 3's single player was good ( ) will probably think HL2 will be the second coming or something. [Edited on 10-20-2004 by Pink Lemonade] 8

There's a pretty good chance I won't be able to make it...there is a Boy Scout camp that same weekend(I'm Senior Patrol Leader a.k.a. the freaking leader) and its my job to be at just about every campout. I'll see if I can pull some strings.
You guys lucked out on the UT2004 tourny. 12
Software / DOOM FREAKING THREE = GOLD« on: August 21, 2004, 12:21:10 AM »
While I respect your opinions, there are things I must disagree on.
Firstly RazorWynd- the scripted sequences stop ped being original after the 5th or 6th time they did it...in a row. Note: The spawning of enemies behind you. You always knew what was gonna happen- enter room, imps spawn in either A) Behind you B)Up another level C) Right in front of you Cue said spawns as soon as you either A) Find a new PDA B)Find a secret area or C) Touch a switch. EVERY TIME. JollyRoger- Ok, you said 'best single player game you've ever played' yet the entire post was devoted to the game engine. I'm not saying the game was bad...I just think that maybe if it didn't take 4 years to make its design wouldn't be so flawed. The game simply came out too late and couldn't compete with newer games that are using newer designs. I understand single-player was Doom 3's main focus, and id did focus on it....but it just got stale. I came into the game expecting nothing except lots of demon killing. And id delivered completely on that part. Was that fun back in 1994? Yes. Today? Yes, very much so, but not 20+ hours worth. I played the game exactly how it should have been played- Dolby 5.1, great video card, at night, alone, in the dark. I don't know where I'm going with this. End transmission. 13
Software / DOOM FREAKING THREE = GOLD« on: August 16, 2004, 05:44:01 PM »
I finished the game almost two weeks ago. Overall, pretty mediocre. The level design was so-so and really linear and after a while it just wasn't scary and after a while I knew exactly what would happen in a room, and more often than not, I was right. The games graphics are AMAZING and really the only reason to play the game in my opinion. id went out to create their best single player experience, and I'd say they accomplished it, but after playing games like Half-Life or even Far Cry, the design aspect of the game just isn't that great. PLUS EVERYTHING LOOKED EXACTLY THE SAME HOLY CRAP. PIPES, PIPES, METAL GRATINGS, MORE PIPES. Freakin' terrible near the end (20+ hour game, got very, very, very repetitive near the end).
Sound effects are weak overall. Shotgun is way over powered. I never felt scared when I had my shotgun equipped. Multiplayer isn't too bad, I've spent a lot of time with it, it's a little half-assed(but id wasn't focusing on multiplayer), but still nothing too terrible. Just turn off all the graphics settings to get the advantage in multiplayer. I give it a 7.5/10. 14

It's gone gold my friends. Four long years of wait. PC Gamer had the first review and gave it a 94%. It was only a matter of time before id said the magical words, "it's done"
GONE GOLD August 5th. Everyone go pre-order a copy now and I expect at the next LAN that we get a ton of games going (seeing as how the max # of people in a multiplayer game is 4, but can be easily changed with a couple changes to some files). REJOICE. 19

Here's a little something to get you pumped for Half-Life 2, even if it's an entirely different physics engine. I suggest trying out the demo titled "Procedural Walk".

Revolutions and Reloaded SUCKED. They were horrible in comparison to the original. Seriously, they made the story suck hardcore in the last two...hell...Reloadeds story didn't even carry over into Revolutions really.
