How fast is my Athalon XP?

I just found a page that gives you a history lesson in processors, and a real formula to calculate the approximate speed rating of an Athalon XP processor.

To quote:

MHz = (XP rating/1.5) + (500/1.5)

For example, using the 1800+ processor QuantiSpeed rating:

MHz = (1800+/1.5) + (500/1.5)

MHz = 1200 + ~333.33333333...

MHz = ~1533.33

The squiggly ~ means "approximately." Since .333 is infinitely repeated, it's just nice way to represent "short form."

For all you math whizzes out there, that should be pretty clear.

I have a 2700 so...


MHz = (2700/1.5) + (500/1.5)

MHz =  1800 + ~333.33333333...

MHz = ~2133.33

you could try the math and see if it comes close to what your specs say.

Since the 64 bit proc is already stated at a speed, I figured there was no sense looking for the forumla.  However, there is a util that will tell you what speed it is running at right now.
