Why take a good movie and make it bad?
« on: May 06, 2005, 06:01:29 PM »
Today I was looking up some movies that were coming out latter in the year.

I ended up coming accross the movie Charlie and the Cocolate Factory and decied to watch the trailer....

Now after seeing this preview, I will be pokeing out my eyes.

So, WHY did they remake a good movie to be bad??

Warning! Watch at your own risk!

Sad to say, here it is: Charlie and the Cocolate Factory

I saw this a while back, but I just don't know.  I will give it a chance but...

Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

What you need to realize is that this version is going to be based off the book more so then the original movie. This will not be a remake of Willy Woka and the Chocolate Factory but it is Tim Burton's Imagination at work to make the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory into a Movie.

Granted the original movie was great in it own way, but it didn't do the book any justice.

And Tim burton has done anything justice???

Every movie he does has an edgy, dark feel to it.  I can't stand most of them cause they are so moody.

Just wait.

While I was looking at upcoming movies, I saw Goonies 2.

Hopefully this one will be as good as the first without torturing people like most sequels!

I happen to like Tim Burton, his style is yes a little dark but i don't think it crosses any lines. I just want to see this because it is supposed to follow the book better.

Right now, I don't really care if it follows the book too much.

Just as long as it is a good movie.

The man even slaughtered Batman!!!

I know he's the Dark Knight and all, but not that kind of Dark.

But then you really don't want me to start in on the state of comic book heroes today.

I liked them better the way they were when I was a kid.

Batman should be one of the best this year other than Serenity.

Maybe even Fantastic Four, but I haven't seen anything besides a photo of the movie.

Batman should be pretty sweet, and hey maybe all the bad guys won't die(unlike the first set of movies)! Maybe they will actually go to the Asylum like the comic books!
BTW, Fantastic Four graphically looks too cool, but will the story be good? we'll know FORTH of July weekend.

And for me... I'm waiting for the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe! Weta Productions are creating the creatures and F/X(ones who did LOTR) so that looks real good! As long as Disney don't ruin it!
