Need help with a mouse problem
« on: March 22, 2005, 11:01:41 AM »
Currently my mouse has been giving me problems when I am playing a fps game.:swear:

The mouse is causing me to suddenly look up or down and also spin in a circle at the same time.

Does anybody have a good idea for a replacement that is not too expensive (like less than $30)? Also it would be nice if it is wireless, but needs to be an optical mouse.

From what I read that does sound good.

I'm gonna have to think about it.

Anybody else have a suggestion?

This is a quote

http://www.ugo.com/channels/tech/features/logitechmx510/default.asp

I fired up the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo I play, and took my fraging skills to center stage, and really started to hammer into the MX 510. I moved it left and right, up and down, swirled all around, and clicked every button as fast as I could. Yet, after the dust settled... I realized the mouse seemed to know my every move, and then be there before I was. I had absolutely zero problems with this mouse for hardcore gaming. Frag away, young grasshopper, frag away.

The paint job, according to the leaflet the store gave me, is a unique holographic style of paint that gives each unit its own personality. Whatever it is, it worked, because the 10 people who have seen the mouse so far have all complimented the mouse's exquisite paint job.

Those of you who are used to a ball mouse will have some deal of difficulty adjusting to an optical mouse. But believe me, even the Razer Boomslang 2100 series, with its 2100 dpi input can't match the lesser 800 dpi input of the Logitech MX-5100's surgical precision at hand. If you want a higher frag count, this is your mouse for the next few years. In fact, buy two, because it's a long road ahead, and you don't want to be caught with your pants down if you break one.

Bottom line is, this mouse rocks. While the initial release has proven that the world is ready for a mouse of this magnitude, the release also proved that Logitech cannot make enough of these fine species of interface devices. You owe it to yourself to make sure you have at least one of these mice on hand at all times. The Logitech MX 510 is a superior piece of hardware in a rat race of underachieving gaming mice.

Whats the problem this mouse is better than the 700 everone uses. Go a head and spend $75 for the MX1000 that I have and can't tell the difference.
Go to Bestbuy and pay $45 for the MX 510

PS: I'm the only one that gives money back. You don't like my used stuff I'll refund your money.

I have to say there are just times that I can switch from the Razer to the MX700 and play better.  The MX series seems to be VERY well designed and implemented.

So is there much difference between the MX510, 700, and 1000?

The 700 is a wireless Optical and is what I use when not using my Razer.  I love it.  Heck there are times that I use it instead of the Razer.  Just depends on the day and how I am playing.

I personally think the 1000 is cool but overkill
The 700 sounds awsome if I can only get over the wireless
part (I had a bas experience) and the 510 sound like a great 20 dollar mouse
i might have to toss my Micr$oft mouse out and get a 510, or a 700 i still need or theropy.

I believe that the 100 is mosre sensitive than the 700, but I am not ready to shell out more money for it.

I was a bit leary of using a wireless mouse for gaming, but the technology involved is FAST.  I haven't seen a dropout just because of the wireless yet.  I have had interference because someone else near me had the same channel, but I just told it to use a different channel.

Yes, but Boom has it for $20, NO SHIPPING!!!

Buy it now, Anderson, before he adds shipping as well.  After all, it's a long way to the sanctuary to see you on Sundays.
