Relocating Possibly... Need Help
« on: November 20, 2004, 10:19:51 PM »
Well you children seem a little more grown up to maybe help me (laugh) so here it goes...

I possibly may be relocating for my job (i work retail and I am possibly opening a new store for the company i work for in crossroads mall... that means that I may be moving from the "wonderful" town of hastings to omaha possibly early to mid january.... so i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on places to live... where not to live... or any advice on finding a place to live.... I have  been told 50 million ideas and suggestions that my head is about to explode!!!  :x

so any ideas would be nice... the winner will receive a cookie when i move!

West Omaha is the best bet. Just ask your insurance man. The cheaper the insurance, the better the area of town.

Boom is right in the fact that you need to find a place that is easy on insurance. Allthough I disagree that out west is the best place because you are now paying an arm and two legs to rent out buy some property. you need to find a balance between the to, plus convience is nice too, if you live close to where you work you have a bonus.  what are you looking for, a House,  Apartment, or Condo?

well we are looking at just about everything... my HUSBAND even found a place that he likes that has its own private weight room that he likes (only like $1000 a month)

the only problem that we are running into is finding a place that accepts dogs... he has an old australian shepherd that he does not want to part with... which is making our hunt a living hell

Well it's funny you should ask that. Yes there is a retirement home by that name, but there is also an apartment complex right next to it by the same name. we stayed there for 2 months while our house was being repaired froma a house fire.

That does seem like a nice area.  Lots of cops REALLY close to there too.

I have to say that the La Vista / Papillion area is probably your best bet.  The taxes will be lower since you are out of Omaha, but you are close to LOTS of stores.  I moved from there to a house out by Sapp Bros and miss the access to grocery stores and department stores that I had there.  It's a bit further to get to them from here.

Plus the crime rates is lower there, and thus the insurance rates tend to be lower as well.

I was in the EastPointe Apts when I lived there, not sure if they take doggies though.

You could try calling Robert Hancock & Company to see what they have...

Just tell the secretary that ZW from Ambush recommended you call.  They are nice peeps.  ;) ( and a customer of IGM )

Zoƫ: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

I believe they do take dogs but it'll cost ya a pet fee, because Papa's Girl friend has two cats and she said she got them because they were cheaper then one dog.
My Dad live there I can always ask him too.

By the way that is were our next Lan will be:D

Papaillio / Lavista is a wonder area ZW is right I have lived here all my life, ('sept for the 2 years in bellevue that I can't remember cause i was too young.)  and I can say this community is a nice community.
