New Mower for me?
« on: October 25, 2004, 04:32:00 PM »
OK, I'm a Geek, I admint it.  Being thus, I can't decide between the following mowers for my house:

Sky Cutter .40 V2: :  the home page for this is here.

RoboMower The homepage is here.

OK, so I am not going to buy either right now, but the thought is fun. :D

Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

I actually saw the first flight of the Sky Cutter. I was in Ida Grove Iowa  time I saw it only I remember it being red, The Guy asked me if I wanted to fly it, I was just getting into the R/C Sport so I declined I was too scared I'd crash it, even though I had Flow before.
No matter how hard you try to push the envelope, remember it's only stationary.

The Sky Cutter is a pain to fly, you need lots of skill before you can even think about flying it.
it is very unstable in flight.

That's hard to believe.  Aerodynamically, and Vector can probably correct me here, it's a perfect wing.  With the sides on it,it becomes a wing that won't spill it's lift off the sides, thus even more stable.

Just wondering if Vector would have any input on this...  I'll email him the link to this thread and see if he can shed and light on this.

I saw that and wondered how it worked.  More than mowers, doghouses are not aerodynamic.  Heck they fly much like a brick does!

The dog house is open,  the floor is the wing, and the sides and roof make up the vertiical and horizontal stableizers. the rudder is in the middle of the house. the ellevator is on the back. that is how that works, take a close look at the picture on the main page and you can see it.

I might have to take up R/C just so Snoopy can fly again!

I'd rather just find The Great Pumpkin at this time of year.
