Recently we had a teacher put on suspension because he was "preaching" about god. a student asked him what his veiws on god were and than went to a pricipal and said he was preaching. For this the teacher is put on suspension.........Is that Right. We punish those who talk abot there belife on a subject.

Not only that a student was suspended today for wereing a shirt that said "free zigler" Zigler is the teacher who got suspended. The thing about this that bugs me the most is the kid was not warned to remove or turn aroun the shirt......he was just suspended.

This nation is hopeless sometimes

The public school system kinda reminds me of Russia for some reason.

Well, if the teacher should choose to appeal the decision, they probably could.  Depending on teh reason for the suspension.

There is actually no seperation of Church and State per se.  This is something that is not in the Constitution, nor the Bill of Rights.  This is a dream that is based on comments taken out of context from letters by Thomas Jefferson.

It goes along the same lines of "not talking about God in schools' but when the 9/11 thing happened, schools in California were implenting classes teaching 4-6 graders about muslim beliefs, giving them muslim names.
Class is in Session.  Get ready to be schooled! :hat:

It's bad enough that a teacher can get suspended for talking about his beliefs in lass at random, without out being provoked. It is something completely different when a student asks the teacher what his belief s are and then getting suspended for it.
To me that is what this situation is. It would be the same as if the student asked the teacher how many people live in Omaha and could you break it down by women, men, children, and so on.
This teacher did nothing more that answer a student’s question. The topic just happen t be religion.

Yep, and just watch the teachers union do absolutely nothing about it either.
