bad timing for problems!
« on: August 27, 2004, 08:31:22 PM »
My system is acting up badly! Some times at startup my computer will say I don't have power running to my 9800 card. Also when playing games it will sometimes crash and then come up with the same problem. I don't know what could be the cause here.

How big is your power supply? try moving and then taking off some of your power cords. If it still does it it could be a bad v/card or M/B. But sounds like lack of power to the v/card

Sometimes the power cord female pins get loose and don't make good contact with the male pins. If the plug goes on real easy you might want to tighten them up but not to much.

450w. Seeing it does this with either my 9800 or 9800 pro I think it could be a dying ps. I mainly wanted to get a second opinion before I drop $70+ for a new one.

BTW
the 450 ps came in a case I spent all of $40 for. I got just over a year out of it so I feal lucky.
