CoD weapons question
« on: June 03, 2004, 09:31:28 AM »
I was playing on a server today that had a lot of players using rifles, and at the same time complaining about the peeps that were using the MP44 and the PPSH.

As a matter of fact, they were calling us noobs.  Just wondering what the opinion of the members of thiis forum is about the weapons in CoD.

Personally, I think you have to be good at everything to use the automatic weapons, just as you do with the rifle.  I generally try to use short bursts to save ammo, and keep the kick down.  Not something that a noob would think of.

I do have to say, they were really GOOD with the rifles.  More than once they capped me coming around a corner..

What say you?

The rifle is one of the most accurate weapons. But no good in close quarters

Any weapon works Rifle, Pistol, or automatics.

OK, so the rifle is more powerful round for round.  But does that make it better than the automatic weapons?

The claim is that the players that use the automatic weapons are "noobs".  That would infer that they don't know how to play the game.

What says the forums to this statement?

noob, Let us ponder a noob for a minute. We've all expeinced them before. and now we truely need to identify them.
The noob: is the guy/gal in the game that doesn't know what he/she is doing. they're the one that TK because they don't know team for team, the ones that just run around aimless. the ones that run at a mine thinking it is a power-up.
but the weapon they use does not confirm whether thet're a noob or not.

You just happened upon some real jerks who think that they are the stuff.  I really have no time for their attitudes and will no stay upon a server like that.

I just ignored them and made sure that I used short bursts to take them out while they focused on trying to shoot across the map.

I try to carry both, and grab the ones that are , in my humble opinion, the best for that map.

Most often the PPSH/MP40 and Springfield/Scoped Karck.

Not much for the M1 Garand.

I want something that isn't going to slow me too much (say the MP44) but has a decent amount of accuracy.  Less kick is good for clip emptying firefights (NOT the PPSH in this case)

Had a great time last night, the enemy was bottling up in a hallway and holding us outside.  I kept tossing grenades in and killing 3-4 at a time.  After I ran out, I would run into the building and climb up above and open fire onto them from above until they finally killed me.  then I would start all over.  :lol

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one that had ever heard of flanking?
