« on: April 10, 2004, 01:16:28 PM »
I am Starting to Build my wireless AP
It going to look a little like this:
Specs:
55W PSU and DC-DC Converter Kit
mini ITX EPIA 5000 Fanless Motherboard
VIA C3 533Mhz
128Mb RAM
128Mb CF memory HD CF/IDE
Morex 1 Slot Riser Card
3COM Wireless Adpapter 802.11a/b/g
OS -- Pebble Linux (weighing in @ 47Mb):D

To be used to extend my network .87 Mile to my buddy Papa Smurf w/ a small 24db gain Parabollic Dish.

Once the parts show up I should get it done in about 2 weeks

Where I am get most of my gear

No matter how hard you try to push the envelope, remember it's only stationary.

I will have a full write up with pics.
I have found my antenna I old satallite t.v. dish it gets between 23.45dB and 23.79 dB of gain so that'll be suffiitiant enough. i just need to make the Bi-quad and attach some 50 ohm coax to it. then get to work on the AP

Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

For less that $20 you can't beat the price, but you can get the signal to him. ;)
