The Matrix Reloaded - ***Spoiler Area***

If you are not wanting the movie spolied for you, then I suggest you leave this thread.  We will be discussing a great deal of information that you don't want to know until AFTER you see the movie.

Let's get it on.
--------------------------------
Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

After the first movie, I had a theory I came up with, but had no basis for, now I do.

The Matrix within the Matrix theory.

Clues:
1. Neo could stop the Sentinals after he got out.
2. Neo KNEW it was a bomb.  yes, he could have guessed, but still, he had the head turning look just like inside the Matrix.

I agree. I think the first matrix was created for all people..but there is  a sub-matrix, or second matrix, that was created for people that were rejecting the original matrix and hence pooled into the second one. This 2nd matrix, made them think, they were freed from the 1st matrix, which allowed them to be fooled and are still 'hooked up' to the matrix.

That would also explain HOW Mr. Smith entered that guy that was cutting his own hand and was going to stab Neo. How else would a virus/sentium program enter a human brain and take over?

I wonder if the 2nd matrix has different rules engaged? I mean, Neo was able to sense the sentinel machines but when he stopped them, he fell into a coma?  hmmm..pondering thoughts....

Class is in Session.  Get ready to be schooled! :hat:

I think that he dropped into ta coma more from the strain of bending the rules that from anything else.

Or maybe the coma was the result of information overload.  Neo was “awakening” from the dream within the dream, and his body (in the real world) was fighting the Matrix(es).  Wooah!

The more I think about this movie, the more I’m convinced it will have a place in the annals of greatness. Perfect? No. The rave dance and love scene were mindless and excessive. But, on the other hand, the action sequences were outstanding. And although the end was a mishmash of confusing events, which will take the next 6 months to sort out and ponder by geeks like us, we’re having fun doing it.  I’ll be seeing it again tonight. :D

I’m 100 percent convinced there’s a second matrix, btw.  The Neo-sentinel confrontation, the Agent Smith-possession, the “sensing” of danger by Neo in the supposed real world, the kisses of life in both movies (particularly in the first when it happened in the “real” world).  Everything, I believe, points to a second façade, a second level of defense by the creators of the matrix to thwart off human resistance.

This movie is great, and I’ll tell you why: because we, like the Neos and the Trinitys and the Morpheuses, are going on a ride and waking up from the dreams and illusions of the matrix.

The Wachowski brothers are geniuses.

Good point.  Now if only the actor himsel would awaken from the stupor he is always acting in.  I like him, but he tends to be so wooden anymore.  What happened to the  livey Ted S Preston?

sort of OT but my love for the movie(s) has led me to buy the "Enter the Matrix" videogame.  Talk about wooden - Keano's acting is nothing compared to the characters' animation and movements.  Let's just say, UT it is not. Still kinda fun though, and the story line was actually written by the Brothers, so for me it's kinda cool.

I saw the game at the NetWar LAN party this weekend.  A bit stiff over all.  Worse than Reeves acting.

Yes!

However, I'm nearly through it now, and I have to say it adds to the overall story.  Helps to fill in some of the gaps from Matrix and Reloaded.  Also, the fighting in "bullet time" is fun.  And there are some nice unseen video clips, very cool to a Matrix junkie.  But overall, this could have been SOOOO much more.

I hear now there is a Matrix MMORPG coming out next year.    If anything can bring me back to the dark side (PC gaming), it would be that. :D

Ya know, somehow that just seems scary, an online game about a computer world.
