I split this out into it's own thread.

That video was AWESOME!  It looks like they went back to basics for this next version.

I can't wait for it to come out.

Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

I'm ready. Duel boot. Vista is hyped as "for Gamers" Then why don't they have driver support for the hardware yet. MS is bringing out a new game for vista Halo 2. A two year old game.  :*

The only bad or not so bad thing is we now have to wait 5 years for their next masterpiece

you know I really don't like vista and will wait as long as I can to use it. DX10 has some great features but I don't think it is worth the hassle of a sloppy operating system to enjoy. with ever release of Windows it just gets worse too.

I'd love to be able to play these games but not at the cost of my machine.

Now if game companies would port or allow 3rd party porting to linux I'd be all over that. and it's slowly happening.

As for Vista I guess I'm just going to have to miss out,,,

At this point, I am waiting for the first service pack to install Vista.  That means many of the bugs have been dealt with.

Something tells me that will be worse than if they forced us to Vista to get it.

Even if they bring DX10 to XP there are the people like me that don't have the hardware support

...

and that is less of a favor and more of a taunt.

DX10 is Vista only, which would require the hardware upgrade

DX10 is Vista only because they are coding that way.  If they chose they could backport it

I just wonder if it is actually going to happen. I've heard rumors about back porting since Vista was released, and I think I might have heard something before then. but I'm not holding my breath.
