Team |DUG| might be lured in from retirement if there were massive amounts of strippers and a few kegs at said LANs.

I think you all remember what happens when |DUG| comes to town...  Major Ownage!

Ahh, the good ole days.

Okay... |DUG| is being officially challenged by PING. Champions at the last 2 Ambush Parties. You are challenged to a 4 on 4, Unreal Tournament CTF tourney at the next Ambush Lan Party scheduled (TBD).

Let's see if |DUG| still has 'the stuff'

OR

Has their 'LUCK' run out?

I know Kid A. doesn't remember me, but it was from watching him that I learned to telefrag.  I used to play him quite a bit on the cove, but I guess once you get too old you lose your memory as well as your UT skills.  Isn't that right Kid Antrim?

You have been challanged.  If you have the courage to show up, you will be fragged into submission.:hat:

Ahh, I feel the love!

Unfortunately, I as well as DUG have long ago retired from UT.  Currently I'm playing BF1942, AA, and as always, Tribes 2 which is my drug of choice.  I just can't kick that game.

Godspeed is a Wolfenstein hor now.  Moe has new addition to the litter, and also dabbles in Wolfenstein.

I can't seem to get anyone from DUG to attend a LAN here in SC, let alone travel anywhere else to play.  Top that off with the fact that they don't even consider playing UT any more, and I'm feeling pretty lonely up here...  :(

I may still show up now and then at your gigs.  If for no other reason than just to stop in and say hi, after a trip to Best Buy...  If you have a BF1942 gig, I might be able to scare up a team depending on the date.   :)

opie I don't remember you from the cove?  You know they have a 2k3 server out now don't you?

Didn't think you would.  Way back then I was just starting to get experienced with UT and got my butt whooped on a regular basis.  Wasn't much of a menace to anyone back then.

We do BF 1942 as well.  Everyone plays it, except for me.  I still have yet to go and buy it.

Just cause we might be playing on a cracked version doesn't mean we didn't buy it, just don't want to scratch the cd.

Hey?  Do you fellas have a way to tie your LAN into the Internet?  I had WITCC up here wanting to host, they have a T3 and were willing to let us use it to bring in out of towners via the net, but damn it no one around here wants to leave their house to game any more.

Any way a fella partake in a LAN down there via the net?

I am not sure.  We have talked about working with the church to bring a line into the cafeteria.  Wouldn't take much other than a freed up data port and some cable.

We'll put that in the discussion list.

That would be an interesting idea.  How much bandwith is available at the church?

Not a ton, I would have to look into it.  The main risk though would be crackers trying to hack the network.  Unless, that is, we can get a router that we can put in to protect their network from access in the cafeteria.

That might work, need to take a look at that.

We could even put an advertising/sponsoring spin on it.  Come see what it's like to play on a broadband connection.  See if they will throw in a cable modem, or a few months of free service.

Now that's an idea.  Maybe that spin would have Cox willing to hookup a Cable modem for the event, as promotional work.  They could work on signing up more people on broadband that way.

Let's see what we are going to do.  I do like the idea though.  Perhaps mention it, and test the water.

The air handler room does have cox in it but if I am not mistaken, it is where cox comes into the building and is a splice point only.  We would have to find out where they have mounted their box and then be downstream of that.  I beleive their box is downstream of this splice point.  Secondly for as cheap as routers are these days, I think we all would throw in $10 for the router, knowing we would have internet access at lan days.  The Linksys routers with 4 port hub have been onsale these days for about $50.
