New Headset
« on: December 28, 2006, 12:25:39 AM »
After using this Plantronics headset for 2-3 years it has finally begun to really wear down and now it needs to be replaced. I was wondering if anyone has seen any good headsets that are very comfortable and reliable, but of course not too terribly expensive.

I'm still looking for a new headset and happened to come across this Plantronics .Audio 340.

Anyone have some thoughts, ideas, comments, suggestions, etc...?

The issue I have with all the recent headsets are the fixed mic booms.  I want a flexable, aka...adjustable, mic boom.

Thats what I've noticed too, but just as long as it can pick up my voice nice and clear without having much problems it will be fine.

Picking a headset is extremely subjective.  I went through about 4 headsets from ConfusedRUS  before I finally bought the set I wear now.

You might try these, I have heard good things, but YMMV.

I tried the headphones last night at a gaming center in Sioux Falls that you are interested in Mr. A.  They were extremely comfortable, but my voice, as reported but everyone on Vent, sounded horrible.

It was rather muddy and seemed to have poor response in the highs.  I think you know what I mean. ;)

Yeah, well... next time type his name in big letters with sparkles and all that so I might actually notice that you did type his name.

Sheesh, stupid eyeballs are only reading half the data.

Only half?

Well I might just buy those headphones I linked and try them out, don't have the cash to fork over for something a lot nicer at the moment but we will see.

Still gonna look around and see if I can find something that will catch my eye.

I guess hearing a poor quality version of your voice is better than no voice at all... most of the time. ;)

I have 'member?  I did like them and mine are really starting to wear out.  The volume dial has to be in the right spot or I cannot hear everything.  I guess that is what happens when you wear them 20 hours a week.
