Put M$ Vista on a diet...
« on: January 28, 2008, 09:45:35 AM »
new tool out there call vLite takes out the bloat from Microsoft Vista.  I know, it's hard to believe that a M$ OS might have bloat, but still this helps put it back on a diet that is acceptable.

Details about the app here: http://www.vlite.net/about.html

Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

sounds good for fresh install. go read their forms before you crash your os.

Or you can do it the old way. http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2238

Yeah, I'll stick you giving Vista a diet. Vista has too much stuff that is useless.

I am shopping for a new laptop.  Wouldn't you know, the big boys won't sell you a pc without an OS.  How stupid is that?  Especially when they want to charge me for that OS and I have plenty of licenses already.

Yeah I talked to Dell for a friend of mine. First they told me it would void the warranty, then they told me some other asinine story about how they can't sell a PC/Laptop with out an OS. Then they said they can't. So I told them They were full of Feces and hung up.

I Don't Understand fully

I understand a little but there is still a doubt

With 50,000 downloads of the program. there should be some good blogs out there.
I tryied a few simple tweaks and the system locked up in my game. MS is to bring their next OS out in 2009 Q2. They are beta testing now.
As for the laptop I would upgrade to xp from vista.

I applied at a company called Dapco, for a truck driving job. I will be making 45k a year doing this. Problem is I will be on the road between 3 to 6 months at a time. So my first paycheck I will invest in a laptop. My problem is I'm not sure whether I'm going to go for a Mac or PC. I love the hell out of Leopard it runs any PC game without any problems ad I can video and photo edit like I've always dreamed of. With a PC laptop, Well it just familiar. Anyways, I might throw Vista ultimate on a spare partition for grins a giggles, but I would stick to XP, or leopard as a main OS.

I have no desire or need to go to Vista.  There is far more bloat and the performance stats that I am still seeing say that there is no reason to move to Vista.  I have licenses for Vista Business, but I am not sure I want to even go there at this point.  I may still talk to a rep when I am ready and let them know that I already have licensing for Vista and see if there is any way to do that.

Vista runs good on my PC as long as I don't tweak the reg too much. I find it to very touchy. I,m am use it as my main OS. The only complant I have is IE7 with all the extra security is very slow. I guess that why the add 8 tabs for web pages at the top.
As far as a lap top If you have an Ipod Mac is the way to go. If you don't you can also run XP on a mac using a secondary program.

Here is an example of what Vista does for you, all things that annoy me and cause me to not want to upgrade to it.
