I've been really bored just lately with the plain jane white case just lately, so I've done something about it.  Come to the next LAN party you will see my dark metallic blue case which I clear coated several times.   I've added a couple of carrying handles to the top too.  By the next LAN party I may add a window and some neon lights.  Just haven't made up my mind yet.  The case is really nice looking as is.

If you've done a bit of an artistic change to your case, lets hear about it!!:D

I was very close a couple times to doing an all out mod.  I plan to make my next one a bit more fun to look at as well.  So far Rogue has my vote for someone who spent some time on a case.  His Piano case was sweet but it wasnt very good for airflow so he went to an antec case.  Now he is like all of us with that standard look.  Caint wait to see yours Opie!

OUCH!!!

My case cost $39, the paint and clear coat another $18, handles $4, and the window and lights I'm planning on adding will add about another$50.  I think I made out just as well without the excessive cost.

If your arms were broken and you were trying to run a Thunderbird without a heatsink, I see justifing that kind of cost with no problem.  But let's face it, you really got it because you wanted to have the aluminum case all of your peers drool over.  Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one too.  The point is that there is a definite point where cost and utility just fail to meet.   Sorta like an Intel processor.

ROFLOL

good on Opie

Lets see you want a cooler case?

$35 Case

$36 for 3 panaflo 80mm fans

$4 for misc stuff for a top blow hole

$25 for the Volcano 9 from Thermaltake

Put 1 fan in front or on the side blowing in, make sure it can pull enough air in.  Put one on top for a blow hole blowing out, and 1 in back blowing in.  It's not rocket science.  I don't have the blow hole on top and I have the Volcano 7+, and my 1.33 ghz t-bird hasn't been above 114, and that was when it was 87 in my house.

Not bad for $100, sure beats $250.

Wait til your $39 case with .99 power supply burns up:hotbouns::crash:
Just ask anyone that it has happened to.The power supply is the heart of your system. You pay for quality. Spend hundreds if not thousands on M/b cpu gpu H/D and put it in a $40.00 peice of crap. And I though you were smarter than that. Oh but it is an AMD sorry

Do you realize just how few people have actually had that experience?  I'm sorry if you have, but I have not had a power supply burn up in the last twelve years.  The biggest source of problems I have seen over the past few years has been lack of preventive maintance.  Open your case up at least once a year and blow the dust bunnies out with a can of compressed air.  Ohh, and don't forget to blow them out of the power supply too.

But now that I have thoroughly peed in your cheerios, I'll keep my cheap piece of crap power supply.  Quality is not always defined by the price tag, but if you really think so, come and see me for your next computer purchase.

Um, why not do what I did, and buy a better power supply?  I have the Enermax 415, in my case.  OK, so the case was $125 because of all the fans and laser cut holes, but still if you are willing, buy a $50 case and install the $75 PS.

Not knocking you Dragon, I like the looks of the aluminum case, just not the price.  BTW, Thermaltake now has a custom aluminum case as well.
