Optical or Ball?

So, what kind of mouse is best to use?

Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

Personally, I use an optical. When i switched from a ball mouse to an optical, WOW!  However, I have used the Razer Boomslang Mouse. It has a ball but the control when sniping in UT was amazing...

But overall, i would say an optical mouse is the best until the issues with Razer are taken care of.

I use and optical, but it has some quirks that I don't like.  I'll be going along, and all of a sudden be looking at the sky or the ground usually at very inopportune times.  Perhaps a better surface than I use would help.  I think someday there will be something better than either or a combination mouse both optical and ball.   I would love to try the boomslang, of course I'm a tight wad, so I'll have to either win one, or borrow one.

I have heard that the Intellimouse 3.0 is supposed to have fixed that problem.  That was one reason that I was willing to switch to the Razer.  Spade kept fraggin me when I space-watched in a corner.  The jerk, how dare he! :P

ok now that i have used my boomslang mouse for a while I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but, with an optical there is almost no maintance... SO...

i think the best usage of the mouses are. . .
For everyday = Optical
for Games = Ball (preferibly Boomslang)

As I remember, Spade has both hooked up, and uses the optical for everyday stuff, and the Razer for gaming.

After I modded the Razer (with the gracious help of Boomslang), I found that the Razer works even better.  BUT, you still have to clean it once in a while.

I have to clean mine EVERY day!  I can only use it on one of those foam mousepads, too.    On my fUNC pad it gets stuck when i try to turn to the left..
