Sometimes the authority figures just plain don't get it:
http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/columnists/dave_lieber/7643262.htm

I love this line:
Quote
"I am speaking about one incident in the Birdville School District in which a student was expelled for tampering with the district's computers. Having been a computer teacher in the real world of public education for many years, let me say that suspension of students who are guilty of such tampering sends a message to all students that is beneficial and necessary.

and then they said this:
Quote
"Hacking into a system should be highest on the list of tampering violations. I believe the other students are now aware that the district takes this seriously and will not tolerate such misuse of our equipment.

:rolling:lol:rolling:lol:rolling

Net Send is hacking into a system?

:rolling:lol:rolling:lol:rolling

Where's my clue bat?  This from a "computer teacher in the real world of public education for many years"!

I don't know about their real world, but my real world has the messenger service turned off!

yeah, the kid shouldn't have done it, but 3 days suspension?  C'Mon people, getta CLUE!

Now THAT would be worthy of a suspension or more.

But net send?  I think not.

And in three years they may be asking the same boy to fix their computers, simply because he has "experimented" enough to actully know what he is doing.  KUDOS to the boy, keep it up and you could be a great BOFH!!!!

Again I say that the public school system sucks!  When I took my first computer class in school I wound up teaching it becuase the "real" teacher didn't have a clue.
Mediocre people are always at their best.
