mine just broke the other day - i quibbled for a few minutes and nfm gave me a voucher to use in the apple store - total spent : $50.00

Stupid question I am sure, but are they all thay better than the others on the market?  I assume that they are usable with non-Apple systems as well.

Had to ask based on Apple's notorious attitude toward anything non-Apple.
