!!!!!!!!! PSP !!!!!!!!!
« on: March 23, 2005, 04:58:14 PM »
Today I got to stand around for about an hour getting to know the new game system, the PSP!  :lol

From what I have seen, this will be the best hand held device for gaming on the go and also a personal media player.

It has one of the greatest screens for visuals with the power of a Playstation 2.

I spent my hour watching the Spiderman 2 movie on it! The only problem I have found so far is the cost, which is 250
Don't fear, the Rocket Master is here!

what about games for it etc?  Is it worth that much, and is it worth waiting until the price drops?

I am such a sad gamer-boy that when I got stuck in an elevator a few weeks ago, I whipped out my cell phone and started playing CoD on it.  I am through almost 10 levels on it.

it's a scroller, and is really only a name thing.  It's more like Contra, but still.  You get the mission, and then pick the 3 guys to go.  Each is of a different class and thus different skill.  then you control one of them and the others follow him.

I usually pick the trooper, the medic, and the engineer.  Then I control the trooper and have the others take cover while I advance.  Once I have made sufficient headway, I have them come up to me, then have them take cover again and advance further again. lather, rinse, repeat until done.

Sprint charges us monthly for their Vision service, which is essentially Internet access for the phones.

I do use the paging function for monitoring of systems, so the download is worth it.

BTW, you are only charged for the transfer of data.  Once the game is on your phone, they can't really say anything.  just don't buy it from them, they will most likely cause the purchase to expire.

There are free sites out there that you only have to buy from once.

Oh.

Oh well.

I did find out today that if you work for Toys "R" Us, that sprint will give you a discount.  I believe it was up to 25% off. (Not exactly to sure on that)

I got a PSP and love the thing. I bought a 512MB memory stick, Ridge Racer, and Lumines for it. I ripped my Family Guy DVD's to my PC and converted a few episodes into a .mp4 file that the PSP can read and watch the episodes while I'm in study hall at school.

I got one two after saving for it for 2 years and I am very pleased with it.  The only problem I have found, which you will find with lcd monitors is that the refresh rate is a little slow and I have had one with dead pixles.

Other than that, I got Metal Gear Ac!d and Need for Speed Underground Rivals which are awsome games!
