Never give up!

Funny story. Last night I was playing Ons on the demo. Apolon, Krack and I were all playing on the same server. I was on the red team and Apolon and Krack were on the blue team. (We usually just stay on whatever team we got put on to keep the game balance).

The red team was getting crushed. Our core was critical, but we kept on fighting hard. Krack was telling me how good of a defence we out up. He was talking like the game was over. The time was running out, but I wasn't paying attention to the time, I was just fighting fighting fighting. The red team got it together and started comming back, but the time ran out and it seemed the blue team had won. (I think the blue team kinda slacked off since they thought they had the game in the bag).

It turned out, that server must have had core drain set to 0, because even though time ran out, the cores did NOT drain, the red team ended up overtaking the blue team and winning the round :)

So, even when things look bad, don't quit or give up. On the other hand, when it looks like you can't lose, don't let your guard down :D

Sounds like our server.  I put drain at 0 so that the only way to win was blow the sucker up.

Have a bit of a story for you guys...

Wolvy and I had a conference in Dallas TX to go to with Spade.  So we cruised on down to KC to p/u Spade and head to Dallas.

We get back to KC from the conference, and Spade_JR challenges Wolvy to a match of Onslaught.  We didn't take our systems, but Wolvy played on Spade's system.  Gotta love having a n50 on a system.  So off they go to the gaming room leaving Spade and I to talk about whatever.

A bit later Wolvy comes up looking a bit sheepish.  JR is right behind him with a giant grin on his 8yr old face.

"I lost, he beat me." says Wolvy.

"Your turn Z!" chimes JR.

We go downstairs and I config the n50.  I fire up a server ( never trust an excited child who is also very smart on game config ) and off we go.

15 minutes, and several great shots by Jr, later I win.  But wait.  Never dumb enough to let it go at that, I set it for 2 rounds not one.  JR cringes.

Another 10 minutes and it's over.  JR is defeated. He climbs the stairs and quietly proclaims his defeat.  Only Wolvy must suffer the ignominy of defeat at JR's hands. :D

Whew, dodged THAT bullet!

I'm surprised Wolvy didn't request a rematch! Too bad JR isn't coming up this weekend!
