IONGamers going Gold

I signed up for this site a while back ( http://www.iongamers.com ), and look forward to having servers available just because I am a subscribed member.

Anyway, they just sent out an announcment that they are going Gold with the site and it will now cost to be a member.  But the price is worth it if you are a beta member.  read below...

Dear IONGAMERS Beta Member:

 

We’d like to thank all of you for testing our product during this beta period and for all the valuable feedback that’s helped us improve the league.  If you haven’t visited the site recently, log back in and check out some of the changes:

 

·         West Coast Servers: You can now choose to play a challenge or setup a custom scrim server on the west coast.  That’ll mean low ping times for all IONGAMERS.

·         New Ladders: We’ve added many new ladders to compete on across all league games, and they’re now split into two divisions – East & West.  

·         Challenge Match Feedback:  When you’re done playing an official challenge match, you can now provide feedback on your opponent… This will help us and all IONGAMERS be on guard for potential cheats.

·         Challenge Rules Expanded: Official rules have been created for most every ladder in the league, and a system has been developed to handle forfeits, no shows, etc…

·         Much, much, more…

 

Now that most of the dust has settled, our beta period is coming to a close.  On February 7, we’ll begin charging a subscription fee for league membership.  No need to panic though, it’ll be cheap: $5.95/month for the first several months.  And for you, our beta testers, it’ll be even better: $20 for an entire year of IONGAMERS.  This special offer will be available until February 14, and open to anyone who signs up for our free beta before February 7th.  So tell all your gaming friends to register now!

 

We’re also happy to announce the schedules for our first slate of cash prize tournaments.  There’s no entry fee for these tournaments.  You just have to be an IONGAMERS member and qualify as per the tournament’s rules.  

 

Quake III
 
February 7 & 8

$6,000 Tribute Tournament featuring 14 of the all time best Quakers
Sponsors Include: Rio Audio,  Super Computer Inc., and Hype Energy Drink
February 27, 28 & 29

The 16 top seeded players from both our east and west coast Quake III ladders will be invited to participate.  
The purse size will be announced soon.

America’s Army Tournament Series
 
March 5, 6 & 7

AAO 4v4 ladder based

- East and West ladders

 

April 2, 3 & 4

AAO 6 v. 6 ladder based

- East and West Ladders

 

May 14, 15 & 16

AAO 6 v. 6 ladder based

- East and West Ladders

 

The basic details:

·          Top 16 teams in each region (East and West)

·          Double elimination

·          6 rounds

·          Three days starting Friday

·          Semis and Finals on Sunday

 

Call of Duty Tournament Series
We’re still working out the details and will announce them shortly.
 
All other league Games
We plan to run tournaments for all of our titles as the league grows, including the chance to win a Rio Chiba 256 mb MP3 player in head to head ladder matches.   So, stay tuned for more details.
