Geforce 4 ti4600 problems!

I was playing battlefield 1942 as usual when I noticed what looked liked snow. At first I though it was something new in the map(as I upgraded to v1.6 of bf1942 yesterday) then the game crashed. Now I can't get the card to run without crashing. Even in windows the mouse cursor is garbled. I was able to get the system running for a few hours but now we are back to crashing. Any idea what might have happened?

I plan on getting a new card in a month so I don't mind a quick and ugly fix.

Also Back when I first got the card I tried to overclock with no luck. I only bumped the speed up ~10MHz and the card would crash just like it is now. Really frustrating

ok I think a trace inside the board fried so I'm getting a new card. I did a lot of looking on the net and figure the radeon 9800 pro is the best choice. I really wanted a 9800 XT but $100 more for 4%-5% more speed is not worth it.

well after looking my budget over I can really get a nice system. (can't wait as I am running off my pII 400 laptop for now. nice backup system but not a primary system:cry:)

In the end the upgrade will cost me about $900 but it's worth it to me. After this I see no reason why I should need a new system for a year or two.

Hard to believe 2 years ago I came with an athlon 750 and a voodoo2 card.

never buy refurbished. Thats how I got my geforce4 ti4600 and it was buggy from the start.
