I adjusted your post totals to count the posts as your old ID. ;)

Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

A true BOFH would not care about a loosers guard and immediaetly start in.  Half of the challenge is convincing a paranoid looser into believing that you actually want to help.  Apparently you need a re-education.

not true, read the latest  BOFH: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/30/30295.html

Notice the dropping of the guard precludes the dropping of the hammer! ;)

You are both right, and both WRONG!!!  It's all in the interpretation of the situation.  You see, a "good" BOFH will read the situation correctly on the first go.  You both got it wrong though.  So let me educate both of you PFYs.

The situation is that we have a new user who is not very well known at this point and therefore has no known weakness or value.  Being that this is the case, there is no reason to waste your effort in endearing this (l)user to you and gaining his trust.

In the case of this (l)user, and a new one at that who didn't bother to go to our LAN Party, the first thing that should happen is that you DO NOT transfer his post totals.  When the (l)user complains about this, you reset his password and take at least a week to fix it.  Next you ask for a small donation for the server reclamation project, and then delete the (l)users account.  This way you string out the pain and maximize your enjoyment at the (l)users expense.

Now aren't you glad that I don't hold root to your systems Yoda?  I'm the only person I know that has ever convinced a programmer that a computer can run out of zeros.

I bow before the master.  You are truely a BOFH, I only hope to learn.  Lastly how do you convince a programmer that a computer can run out of 0's?

Z, I think that you meant precedes not precludes.

Yeah, I was slightly amazed that he hit me with that.  Though I do appreciate the correction in spelling.  I leave it as a lesson for others.

When someone rights it.  The makers of this forum software want a lot of money to be on the registered users section now.  I don't mind $20.00/yr, but $19.99/month I mind.  Sorry, it will have to wait until someone can write the mod for free.
