Time for new digs
« on: November 05, 2008, 01:20:43 PM »
Well, I have been at this job for 4 years this month. Unfortunately, the boss' boss' boss felt they didn't need their only Reporting System administrator, so they cut my position to save money. Four weeks ago they told me my position would be eliminated on January 1 and I have until then to wrap up my work.  It was something Mrs. ZW and I kept to ourselves because of the pressure that comes with others knowing about it.

Nothing like the "kiss of death, Merry Christmas!". That night I called a friend of mine that happens to be SVP at a consulting firm we use here and told him of the situation. I start there November 17. It means that I will be on the road again, and not sitting at a single desk everyday, day after tedious day. I get to meet new people and help them solve their problems. This is going to be the most fun I have had in a looooooong time.

Just thought you guys might like to know

Zoë: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

All over the place.  I will be a consultant for a company and be installing Business Objects products as well as teach classes on the products.  I will be on the road about 50% of the time, traveling in a 7 state region.
