Interesting comment, but not very accurate.  I happen to use Ad Block, and it does NOT block every ad, only the ones that come from domains you specify.

I happen to block ads that want to place a cookie or are from intrusive domains like Doubleclick.Com.

Sounds to me like someone is either mis-informed, or has an agenda.  Either way, I have IETabs installed and have used that to get around the block.

As far as the ad blocking being theft of the resources...  if I am not going to buy from that ad, why is it any different whether I block it or ignore it?  Either way that ad counted for the site and I didn't have to be annoyed by the vendor.

what is even more interesting is reading the myths about Firefox on that page. This person most deffenatly has an agenda, they're out for the kill with Firefox and it is most obvious to me.

As for Ad block I use it and like you said it only blocks the sites specified. And if an ad is going to be as intrusive as placing cookies then it is as much of a problem as they say it is theft to block these ads.

I disagree with ad blocking be theft, it is no different the changing the channel on the radio or TV during commercials or ignoring a bill board.
