Child\'s Play 2006

For the past 2 years I have been participating with a charity that is run by gamers to show that we really can make a difference in the world.

Several years ago the artists behind PennyArcade were insulted by an article saying that gamers are incapable of caring about anything outside of the game. Just to prove the author wrong they founded <a href="http://www.childsplaycharity.org" target="_new">Child's Play[/url].

Child's Play is a not-for-profit organization that every year collects funds and posts wish lists for hospitals that participate.  These hospitals are ALL facilities that specialize in treating children. They are setup with an wish-list account on Amazon or, new for this year, the Aussie equivalent and they can post a list of books, videos, and gaming paraphernalia (systems, controllers, games, etc).

You pick the facility you want to support, and pick from the list, then pay for it! There are lots of items and the prices vary from dirt cheap to "Oh my god, that's more than a year of WoW!!"  But this is for the kids in the hospitals that can't play and have fun.

Last year they raised more than $600,000 in funds and materials, let's take it over the $1,000,000 mark this year!

Zoƫ: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.
