Take a look and post your recommendations for maps you would like to see in the tourney.

WOW! what a list...

2Chickens, in my opinion, isn't a good one for a tourney.. some people have never played that one..and there are times you can't get that stupid door open..LOL    The tourney should be how well you play against others not how well you shoot a window and HOPE TO GOD it gets activated... LOL


I don't think the Artic Fighters maps are good either..some people haven't played those flying plane maps.


These are the basic maps that I think would be great for a tourney.

Lava Giant: the red and blue bases aren't the same... some may not like that.

Espirit de Corp: bases are the same

Coret Facility: bases are the same

Horus: bases are the same

Medusa's Maze: bases are the same

BollWerK105: bases are the same

These are just some suggestions. As you can see I am a fan of the bases being the same(mirrored bases). These are the ones i thought would work good for a tourney. However, some of the maps on the list I can't picture in my head

I will have to post the maps I think would be best later at home when I can look at them.

I think the important thing is that the maps that are chosen are fairly common, don't have huge "secret" shortcuts, and are fair for each team.

I agree with Wolvy that maps like 2 chickens or antimatter that have "secret" shortcuts should be out of the tourney.  If a team doesn't know the secret the game isn't very fun.  You play for less than 5 minutes and end with a score of 5 to 0 and may not have even fragged anyone no real skill involved.

Although maps with similar bases are good, there are some maps that have different bases that I think have very good game play, and each base has it's own advantages/disadvantages but they even out.

1 standard map that we will rule out is Ctf-Command.  The layout of the blue base is too "in favor" of the blue team.  Anyone who played us in Crete will remember that!

It wouldn't be much of a joke for you if Zeet and myself got turned loose on the same team playing Artic Fighter Jets.  It's a snipers paradise.

I am thinking that we will probably not use the fighter jet maps, as they are less skill oriented, and more of a fun map.  But Zeet and I will talk it over.

Is the tourney to see the best skilled people using the original Unreal Tournament game weapons?

If so, then Artic Fighter Jet maps should be a "NO GO". The weapons in those maps are not the default weapons for Unreal Tournament. Some people probably have not played it which would give an unfair advantage to those who have played it..

Yes, and I have to agree that Artic Fighter Jet maps have to go.  Especially if Beta is to stand a chance in the rematch.
